How do I get the front of my hair to not be so flat??!?!?

My hair is the wheirdest fricken hair ever. It used to be straight all the way around and about two years ago it got curly on the sides (like wings or lax flo), but the front of my hair would do that do. After some toying I figured out how to fix it, but now it looks really flat and ugly in the front. Some days it looks nice and flowy, but thats only after I don't shower for a day (which is only on a sunday when I have a huge project). Can someone help me? I use head and sholders for oily hair (because my hair used to get super staticy and flat on random days)
