I don't know what the material is made out of, but the material is a wicking material. The players would not run around with a thick material or a patch as a number. I am sure the number is made out of the same material as the actual jersey. For example, the adidas climacool jerseys are made out of a special wicking material. Just like the nike Dri fit material. I am sure the whole jersey is made of the same thing. The felt that is put on the Jersey is probably something that the company puts on their when a certain player/number is ordered. So your jersey is probably a replica.
