Should I get a wood burning stove or some other fuel type?

I have a fireplace in my house, and would like to install a stove to supplement the heating system in my house (approx. 2,000 sq.ft.). Any suggestions for the type of stove? Pros and cons? It has to look nice as well as give me heat!
