Anyone else feel as if school seems to be a dictatorship, or communist not a democracy.?

i'm in middle school and my school seems as if its a democracy.. we don't have any freedoms.. and teachers never let us say whats on ourmind. the principal is cool (i guess) he can be really mean and doumb though.. like everyone scared of him because he never let's us say what we feel. anyone else have a similar problem at school like feel like you have LITTLE OR NO FREEDOMS? why is that? how can we change it
